Maruti Suzuki India Limited is recalling 69,555 cars for inspecting and repairing the wiring harness. The recalled vehicles include 12,486 units of the Swift, 1,131 units of the Ritz and 55,938 units of the Dzire, manufactured between March 8, 2010 and August 11, 2013. These vehicles were only sold in the local market and were not part of the export lineup from Maruti.
MSIL will contact customers to get them to bring their vehicles to technicians for an inspection of the wiring harness. If found defective, these will be replaced free of cost. Maruti says the possibility of the problem occurring was found based on feedback from regular monitoring and internal checks.
